LIIT is the method I’ve lived, coached, and refined through massive weight loss, postpartum recovery, and years of hands-on training with women. It works because it honors the body and delivers results that last.

The Inspiring Journey of Coach Lou

I didn’t start my fitness journey because I absolutely loved working out. I started because I needed to rebuild my life and my relationship with my body. When I was 19 I weighed 320lbs. Everything I was eating would metabolize to sugar. Insurance covered a Bariatric surgery called a Duodenal Switch. I lost 160lbs in 1.5 years. I am 30 years old, and after the birth of my daughter in 2024, I am weighing about 180-190lbs.

Today, my coaching is rooted in honesty, empathy, and structure. I meet women exactly where they are. I coach breathing, posture, and strength as foundations. I teach about the importance of flexibility and mobility. I prioritize consistency over intensity. I help women feel capable, calm, and strong.

Early Days

At 19, I made the decision to have duodenal switch surgery. I lost over 150 pounds—but the real work came after. I had to relearn how to move, how to fuel myself, and how to trust my body again. I learned very quickly that extreme approaches might create fast results, but they don’t create sustainable health.

Growth Phase

As I became a certified personal trainer and nutrition coach, I saw a huge disconnect in the fitness industry, especially for women. So many programs were loud, aggressive, and built around pushing harder, burning more, and ignoring signals from the body. They didn’t account for hormones, nervous system health, mental load, or the realities of motherhood.

LIIT with LOU

I knew there had to be another way, one that respected the body instead of fighting it. That’s when I began building my philosophy around low-intensity interval training (LIIT). Movement that’s intentional, joint-friendly, supportive of the nervous system, and doable in real life. I teach women how to breathe, how to move with purpose, and how to build strength without breaking themselves down.

my why

Postpartum recovery, core reconnection, posture, and sustainable strength became non-negotiables in my coaching. I don’t believe in rushing the process or skipping foundations. I believe every woman deserves to feel safe in her body, confident in her movement, and supported both physically and mentally. My journey has taught me that transformation doesn’t have to be extreme to be powerful. It can be steady. It can be supportive and last through every season of life.

My Core Values

Building strength through community and inclusivity.

Foundations First

Breath, posture, and core connection come before load or speed. When the foundation is strong, movement feels safer, more effective, and more confident.

Adapted Strength

Strength is built by adjusting load, tempo, range of motion, and volume based on stress, sleep, hormones, postpartum recovery, and nervous system readiness. Some days that means progressing, and other days it means supporting.

Personalized Coaching

I coach the woman in front of me. Every instruction is personalized around breath, posture, nervous system readiness, and real life, with intentional cues and adaptations that meet women where they are. This approach builds calm, confident strength while helping women feel safe, supported, and capable in their bodies again.

Sustainability always

If it doesn’t fit real life, it won’t last. I coach methods women can return to again and again, through every season of life. Sustainability also comes from respect. When women feel safe, understood, and supported, they trust the process, stay engaged, and build habits that hold up long term.
